In the lower age group (11-14), there were six limits of five fish brought to the scales; and in the older age group (15-18), seven limits of five fish. Total keepers for the tournament were 82, which was an awesome job by the young anglers.
Nathaniel Stevens (11-14 age group) bested the field with a weight of 10 lb. 15 oz., plus big fish of 4 lb. 1 oz. Second place went to Tyler Wallace with 10 lb. 6 oz. And third place went to Tyler Nowak with 9 lb. 12 oz.
Zachary McQuade (15-18 age group) took top honor with 11 lb. 4 oz. and a 5 lb. 7 oz. lunker. Second place went to Jessie Colie with 10 lb. 15 oz. Third place went to Ray Cleveland with 10 lb. 14 oz.
Bass Pro gift cards were given to all youth contenders and to the boat captains who provided the young anglers a great day on the water. A cook out followed the weigh-in and awards were presented to the top three in each age group, plus both lunker winners.
Special thanks to the boat captains, for taking the time to take our youth out, and to MBFN Tournament Director Mike Day, for his weigh-master duty.
